上星期 Software Freedom Podcast 已推出第三集。今集邀請來自香港大學計算機科學系的嘉賓 David Lee,介紹港大打造專為管理課室內一眾學生電腦的 SLIM (Single Linux Image Management) 和 SWIM (Single Windows Image Management) 系統。也邀請了 OLPC 每童一電腦 的香港義工來分享計劃和早前在四川的義務工作。也說說如何脫離M$魔爪,以及共享創意始創人Lawrence Lessig。

OLPC APAC and volunteers will introduce OLPC G1G1 programme and demostrate XO laptap by Mr Anthony Wong, Mr Chan Yik-hei, and few primary school students at BookFest, HKCEC on 14:45 - 16:00 27 Dec 2008.

OLPC introduction at IT Fun Day

The IT Fun Day is a carnival with award presentation, performance, booth display and games with the latest IT applications and aims to promote IT concepts to the public. Organized by the Central & Western District Office, the IT Fun Fair Day will take place in Sheung Wan.

Two booths are allocated for OLPC APAC. During the event , volunteers of OLPC APAC will introduce OLPC and G1G1 project to general public.

First OLPC Meetup

OLPC Give 1 Get 1 Program is already started in Hong Kong, some of our friends got their own XO computers after their donation to this program last week. To promote G1G1 program, more volunteers are required to participate in the program.

A promotion event of OLPC will be held on 21th Dec 2008 (2-6pm). 4-5 volunteers are required to station and introduce XO computers at 2 OLPC APAC  outdoor booths in "IT Fun Day", Tai Tat Tei, Sheung Wan.

To let our volunteers to learn some basic operation skills of XO computers, we will organise a small and first OLPC meetup at a upstair cafe, and few XO computers are available for volunteers to try it. We will share our experience and comments on XO computers and  OLPC projects. Any interested volunteers are welcome to join us.
