Hong Kong Open Source Conference 2018 – Message from Sammy

Hello fellow makers and hackers,

The Hong Kong Open Source Conference is turning 6 this June and we can’t wait to have you involved! It all started with a few young people like you, who are eager to bring the open source culture to Hong Kong despite of the lack of resources and interests in the community. After all these years, with perseverance, we’ve grown from 145 participants to an encouraging 300 participants this year.

Our slogan for this year’s conference is “Decentralizing, Innovation”. The conference will be held between 16th and 17th of June at The Hong Kong Science Park. Last year, we’ve talked about how to go practical and embrace open source in our everyday life. This year, we have joined forces with various Open Source Communities to go deeper and wider across different subject areas. We believe everyone in the community is the catalyst of this journey, the collective wisdom and expertise across this decentralized networks is turning the Open Source innovations to a new page.

This year we will cover new topics including Blockchain, Life & Hack, A.I, the new trends across Open Source (Haxe, R) as well as database. Speakers will include talents from The USA, Canada, China, India, Belgium, Luxembourg, Taiwan, Australia and Japan. You will have the opportunity to meet industrial experts, learn in first-hand about Hong Kong Open Source Conference and its related activities, and most importantly, you will go home with new insights and ideas to inspire your professional development.

Tickets are now available for FREE on a first-come-first-serve basis. Registrants with full fare tickets will also receive our special edition T-shirt (limited offer). Act today to secure your seat and I am looking forward to seeing you between 16th and 17th of June!
