Hong Kong Open Source Conference 2017

Hi mate,

It’s amazing to welcome our 5th year of the Hong Kong Open Source Conference. Looking back, it was all started with a few young people like you, who are eager to bring the open source culture to Hong Kong despite of the lack of resources and the interests in the community. After all these years, with perseverance, we’ve grown from a 10-man team to a team of 33 people, from 145 participants to 355 participants last year.

Our 2017 Hong Kong Open Source Conference is coming and we cannot afford to miss you.  This year, our slogan is “Embracing Open Source’s success”. The conference will be held on 9-10 June at Cyberport.  Last year, we’ve talked about how to go beyond open source. Now, we think it is time to take our ideas to the real life battlefield, looking at how we can embrace open source in real life.

When we speak of open source, most of us only think about open source software, but in fact it is much more than that. It can be font or data, like how the government should open the data for the public. Therefore, we come up with the ABCD theme – “App, Business, Culture, Data”, covering all sorts of open source projects we may come across in real life.

On top of the brilliant topics in each track, we have invited several career mentors in this field to share their success and path on how to develop themselves as successful developers.  It is also a good opportunity to network with your fellows and friends.

Ticket is now available on first-come-first-serve basis. Registrants with full fare tickets will also receive our special edition of T-shirt (limited offer). Act today to secure your seat and I am looking forward to seeing you on Jun 9-10.
